SUMMARY:Understanding Aggression at Home
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will focus on a concerning issue – Aggression toward Family or Caregivers in Childhood and Adolescence or AFCCA. This is a pattern of behaviour where a child or young person engages in aggressive acts aimed at family members or caregivers. This can cause significant physical and/or psychological harm to the child or young person\, the family member or caregiver toward whom the behaviour is directed\, as well as other family members. Join Interwoven Connection clinicians during this webinar focused on how to understand this form of aggressive behaviour\, ways to consider managing at home\, and where to get help. \nAbout Our Speakers: \nCindy Quinlan-Morrone is an adoptive mom to three incredible humans who joined the family through foster care. She has gained much awareness\, insight\, and strategies in living with the impacts of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)\, trauma\, loss\, and grief. Professionally\, she practices an Occupational Therapist\, combining her living experience in a private pediatric clinic and with Interwoven Connections as part of the Aggression toward Family/Caregivers in Childhood/Adolescence (AFCCA) Family Support Program. \nSarah Van Dyk is a proud parent to three youth\, whose family was built through public adoption with her partner\, and reflects her lived experience in neurodivergence\, child welfare navigation\, and openness in adoption. She spent 20 years supporting families in the London area before joining Interwoven Connections\, holding a Developmental Service Worker diploma and a Bachelor of Social Work. \nThis webinar will be available on-demand. This means that individuals who register for this webinar will receive the webinar recording link directly to their inbox so you can watch at your convenience. Data and information collected in this form will not be distributed or shared beyond Parents for Children’s Mental Health. \nRegister HERE to receive the pre-recorded webinar link directly in your inbox!
